    Louisiana pays you to build FORTIFIED: two alternative paths to $10,000, plus a mandated insurance discount. The grant and tax credit cannot be combined; we help you pursue the eligible path that fits your project.

    LA FORTIFIED Roof Tax Credit
    A nonrefundable Louisiana income tax credit of up to $10,000 for eligible expenses on a qualifying FORTIFIED Roof™ (LA RS 47:6044). No lottery; program rules, annual funding, and filing windows apply.

    Mandated FORTIFIED discount
    Louisiana law requires carriers to discount qualifying FORTIFIED roofs. Filed discounts run roughly 17–40% of the wind portion of the premium. Where a Class 4 impact credit is larger, the carrier applies that instead; the discounts do not stack.

    LA Fortify Homes Grant
    Up to $10,000 as direct assistance through lottery-selected application windows. This is an alternative to the tax credit, not an additional benefit; costs covered by the grant cannot also support the credit.
